I have dedicated my entire career to working in the care sector, where I have built a strong foundation of compassion, professionalism, and commitment to supporting others. Caring has always been a part of my life. I grew up with my mother being disabled, which taught me the importance of patience, understanding, and respect from an early age.
I began my career as a Support Worker, where I developed a deep passion for providing person-centred care. Through hard work and dedication, I progressed to Senior Support Worker, and I am now proud to hold the position of Deputy Manager at Forrest House, where I also support the Manager in the day-to-day running of the service. In this role, I take great pride in leading by example, supporting my team, and ensuring the highest standards of care and communication are maintained.
For over 22 years, I worked with deafblind elderly individuals, an experience that greatly shaped my approach to care. During that time, I learned sign language to communicate more effectively and ensure that every person felt included, respected, and understood. This experience taught me that communication goes far beyond words, it is about connection, empathy, and trust.
Since then, I have continued my career working with people who have cerebral palsy and neurological conditions at Forrest House where communication remains central to everything I do. I am passionate about supporting each individual to live with dignity, independence, and a sense of belonging.
Care is not just my profession; it is my vocation. I am proud of the knowledge, experience, and empathy I have gained over the years, and I remain committed to making a positive difference in the lives of others every single day.
When I am not working, I enjoy watching my daughter taking part in horse riding, holidays, spending time with family and football which is one of my major passions.
